Beer and Burgers

Now then. After a heavy weekend on the pop, as in Friday, Saturday, Sunday I decided to get back at it today. Had a burger at about 3pm and went out at about half five.

All the above should be clues that your either going to be sick or knackered very quickly as any decent PE teacher would tell you, oh well!

As an aside, why do people who pack flat pack furniture put empty boxes inside the boxes? And are tiddly-wink factory workers counter productive? Answers on a postcard.......

Hi there,

Sorry to bother you out of the blue like this. I am a comedian currently writing a book about language and how it travels and develops. One aspect I am particularly looking at is jokes.

Now, about 5 years ago I wrote a joke in which I said that my dad used to work in a tiddy link factory but didn't like it because he found the work counter productive. Since then I've seen and heard it in various other places so am trying to track its progress and find out if other people have also come up with the same joke in the meantime.

Googling the words 'tiddly wink' and 'counter productive' I found your blog. Well done by the way! But do you know where you first heard the line? Or did you come up with it yourself?

Again, sorry to bother you with this but if you could help I'd be really grateful. I'm best reached at shakeyhorne@hotmail.com.

Many thanks, all the best,
Alex Horne
